PoliticsPolitical rivals are jealous of development in Punjab: Shahbaz Sharif

LAHORE/ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Chief Minister Punjab and the newly-elected President Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Shahbaz Sharif on Wednesday said their political rivals were jealous of the development and progress made in Punjab.

In a statement issued in Lahore, Shahbaz Sharif said the people had become fed up of the politics of lie and allegations. He said the public was deceived by raising the slogan of change.

Separately in a statement in Islamabad, the PML-N senior leader Mushahid Ullah Khan said the defeat of ruling alliance in the elections of the Chairman Senate and the Deputy Chairman Senate was obvious as the struggle had been going on since long.

“Huge amount of money was used in Senate elections. The people were threatened and given money,” he claimed.

Mushahid Ullah said both the Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the Co-Chairman Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Asif Ali Zardari used to abuse each other in the past. He said Sadiq Sanjrani was Zardari’s man not Imran Khan’s.

“We didn’t expect this result. Undemocratic forces won in this elections,” he said.

Mushahid Ullah said PML-N talked about the sanctity of vote, adding the people didn’t like undemocratic forces.

“Wrong message is given in the election of the Chairman Senate,” Mushahid Ullah added.
