PoliticsPML-N to promote good governance in AJK: Farooq Haider

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: President Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Raja Farooq Haider Friday said we would form government in AJK and promote good governance.

Talking to PTV, he said bad performance of previous Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) government in AJK had been rejected by the people and it was public accountability.

He said there were two major issues that would be focused by the PML-N government in AJK including Kashmir issue and promoting good governance.

“AJK is a base-camp for occupied Kashmir and we want to evolve a comprehensive strategy with federal government so that Kashmir issue is properly highlighted at all local and international forums”, he said.

Farooq Haider said PML-N believes in politics of serving the masses and not of revenge.

He said elections in AJK were held in a free, fair and transparent manner and rigging allegations levelled by opposition parties were baseless.

He said we would engage the masses through our policies to ensure them that it was peoples’ government. Power would be transferred at local level by introducing effective Local Bodies system, he added.
