LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Wednesday suspended party membership of its female provincial lawmaker Nighat Sheikh for misbehaving with bus hostess after she could not serve her water swiftly.

According to details, Provincial general secretary PML-N Raja Ishfaq issued show cause notice to MPA Nighat Sheikh seeking her explanation her position on the incident within three days.

Earlier, Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif also took notice of the incident.

The MPA Nighat Sheikh, who was traveling by a private bus from Islamabad to Lahore on Sunday, allegedly misbehaved with a bus hostess named Iqra Nawaz. The MPA asked bus hostess to bring her water. She complied but the MPA got furious over the delay and slapped her.

Passengers of the bus intervened and demanded a legal action against the MPA. On this, the driver took the bus to a local police station.

But the lawmaker managed to lodge a complaint against the girl instead, accusing her of making death threats.
