ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Shibli Faraz has alleged that the money made by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan People’s Party PPP) through corruption is being used to purchase votes for the Senate Elections 2021.
Talking to the media representatives at Press Information Department (PID) in Islamabad on Monday, Shibli Faraz said that both the opposition parties want to continue the politics of purchase and sale.
The information minister said that the PPP leader Raza Rabbani submitted his arguments before the Supreme Court o Pakistan today in support of secret balloting for the Senate Elections, which is contrary to the Charter of Democracy (CoD) signed by his leader Benazir Bhutto.
Senator Shibli Faraz said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) laid the foundation of clean politics. He said that we are endeavoring for ending corruption in the Country.
The minister said that the person, who comes to the Parliament through the use of money, cannot be the real representative of the public.
Talking about the by-election in NA-221 Tharparkar-I, the information minister said that the PTI workers were harassed by PPP, and also accused the Sindh government of using the state machinery in the by-poll.
The information minister further said that a culture of corruption persists in Sindh whereas the condition of basic necessities such as clean drinking water, health facilities, and law and order is appalling in the province.
