  • Says Pakistan supposed to receive first oil cargo in April last year

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senior leader Hammad Azhar said that the arrival of first Russian discounted crude oil cargo in Pakistan was too little and too late, as the PTI government fulfilled all requirements to get the first Russian discounted crude oil cargo in April last year; however, the PMD circus messed this issue up as well.

In a statement on Monday, Hammad Azhar said that the Pakistan was supposed to receive the first Russian discounted crude oil cargo in April last year as at the request of the Russian authorities, he sent all his conversation with his Russian Counterpart in a written form through Pakistani ambassador in Russia in this regard.

However, he said that the PDM flip flopped on this issue for a whole year.PMD circus also messed up Russian discounted crude oil issue: Hammad Azhar

Hammad stated: “They claimed our refineries cannot run this oil and warned of sanctions despite the fact I kept on saying again and again that nothing like this would happen. It now manages its first cargo after 14 months from the time PTI was scheduling to bring in the oil cargoes from Russia.

“At that time the discount was steepest too and many countries saved precious foreign exchange and insulated their people from energy price hikes by acting promptly. We meanwhile had the PDM circus messing this issue up as well,” he added.

Hammad Azhar said that if the negotiations with the PTI government were followed, billions of dollars would have saved, besides reducing the burden of inflation unto the people.

The PTI leader stated that the imported government dragged the matter for 14 months unnecessarily and eventually did not get the much-needed discount and the quantity was also too little. He went on to say that the PDM government was determined to destroy everything.
