PoliticsPM Khaqan must brief Parliament about NSC meeting: Khursheed Shah

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah on Monday said Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi must take the Parliament into confidence about the decisions taken in the National Security Council (NSC) meeting.

“The people serving on important positions should talk carefully,” Khursheed Shah when asked to comment by media about Nawaz Sharif’s controversial remarks about Mumbai attacks.

Khursheed Shah said responsibility lied on all of them when it was a matter of national security. He said everyone must be cautious while talking when the Country had already been gripped by multiple overlapping crises.

The opposition leader said Nawaz Sharif had relations with incumbent government. He said he had come to know about the NSC meeting today.

“I decided not to participate in the meeting,” he said.

Syed Khursheed Shah said the prime minister should have briefed them about the decisions which the NSC made.

Meanwhile, the NSC meeting held in Islamabad with the prime minister in the Chair and attended by concerned ministers and services chiefs concluded after lasting for two hours.

The meeting discussed important national security issues. It also reviewed controversial statement of the former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
