ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The former Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtukhwa Pervez Khattak has tendered an apology to the nation for the inappropriate language he used during the election campaign.

“I have also submitted an apology in the Court for the statement I gave during the election campaign,” Pervez Khattak said in a video message on Friday.

Pervez Khattak – who also won the election 2018 from NA-25 Nowshera-I Constituency – said that his intention wasn’t to hurt anyone rather it was meant to highlight social problems. He said that sale and purchase of votes in elections 2018 were also part of those problems.

The former Chief Minister said that in spite of that, if someone has been hurt by his remarks, he seeks apology from him.

Earlier on Wednesday, Pervez Khattak also submitted an unconditional apology to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for using foul language.

In a separate statement, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) strongly denounced the burning of educational institutions for girls in Chilas. It also said that it’s also lamentable that culprits involved in this heinous crime haven’t yet been nabbed.
