PoliticsPDM protest in line with Constitution: Maulana Fazlur Rehman

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Head of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said that their protest against the delaying tactics of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to render its judgment in the Foreign Funding Case against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is in line with the Constitution.

Talking to media in Islamabad on Tuesday, Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that the Foreign Funding Case has been pending with the ECP for the last six years; however, it hasn’t reached to its logical conclusion yet.

The PDM Chief said that they are well cognizant of the government’s power and if it didn’t allow them to move forward as per their plan, they would have removed the containers with force.

Maulana Fazlur Reshman said that the PTI government is endeavoring to prolong the Foreign Funding Case by filing applications. He said that PTI hasn’t disclosed secret documents and bank accounts.

Meanwhile, a consultative meeting of the PDM leadership was held at the residence of Maulana Fazlur Rehman in Islamabad.

In the meeting, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz, the Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) Chief Mehmood Khan Achakzai, the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Senator Sherry Rehman, and the PML-N leader Khurram Dastgir Khan among others patriated.

Separately, while addressing a gathering in Umarkot, the Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari alleged that PTI has received foreign funding from India and Israel.

Bilawal said that the PTI acquired foreign funding to seal the power, adding that the puppet government must resign or we will snatch the power from them after reaching Islamabad.

The Chairman PPPP remarked that ECP has to answer to the allegations leveled against it of being complicit with PTI in the Case.
