PoliticsPakistan didn't deceive America; US played unfair with it: Rehman Malik

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) leader Senator Rehman Malik on Tuesday nailed the malicious assertions of the US President Donald Trump against Pakistan and stated that Pakistan never betrayed the United States rather the US administrations have been playing unfair with Pakistan.

“No Country has suffered more than Pakistan in US sponsored war on terror which destroyed our peace, infrastructure and economy,” Malik said in his tweet.

“We have suffered 75,000 casualties so far in war on terror and Pakistan has not deceived the US but it is the United States which is not playing fair with us.”

He said perhaps the US President was misinformed as factually the request for assistance in war against terrorism was made by the United States and Pakistan accepted the request in a friendly gesture. But, it cost our economy massively.

The Senator further stated that survival of Pakistan was never dependent on US aid.

“We have suffered a total loss of over US$ 100 billion and a fair calculation indicates that you still owe to Pakistan.”

He said the US assistance to Pakistan is named as Coalition Support Fund (CSF) which was reimbursed to Pakistan for expenses already incurred on joint operations and provision of logistics and compensation for airspace, land and sea services. Much out of this pledged amount was not claimed by Pakistan.

Rehman Malik said no Country in the world would trust the US friendship after such assertions by the US President despite our sacrifices in war against terrorism. “I am a witness to it being former interior minister of Pak for five years.”

Malik advised Donald Trump not to settle personal grudges with your own American opponents using Pakistan and by terming your former administration as foolish.
