LAHORE, Pakistan: The former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday reiterated his resolve to made endeavors for restoration of sanctity of vote, and also expressed gratitude to the people of Lodhran for reposing confidence on Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leadership.
“We have to restore sanctity of vote. People’s mandate should not be violated,” Nawaz Sharif while talking to media representatives in Lahore.
The PML-N’s Candidate Pir Muhammad Iqbal Shah took the political analysists across the Country by storm on Monday when he defeated Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Ali Khan Tareen – the son of former PTI Secretary General Jahangir Khan Tareen – in NA-154 Lodhran by-election.
“I am thankful to people of Lodhran. Our narrative created space in hearts of people,” Nawaz Sharif said.
The former prime minister also blasted his opponents, saying they merely levelled false allegations and told lies. “Opponents did politics of allegations and lies,” he said.
Nawaz Sharif said the Chairman PTI Imran Khan promoted abusive culture in the Country.
The PML-N President also once again questioned his disqualification by the Supreme Court in Panama Papers Case, saying “I was disqualified for serving the people.”
