The ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Candidate Haider Sultan won the by-election held on Tuesday in PP-20 Chakwal for Punjab assembly seat with a huge margin, beating Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Candidate Tariq Fazal.

As per the official results of PP-20 Chakwal by-polls, Haider Sultan secured 75,958 votes while Tariq Fazal received 46,025.

In a twitter message, the PML-N leader Marriyum Nawaz said that this success is a direct vote of confidence on performance of PML-N government.

The Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif also congratulated Haider Sultan for victory in the Chakwal by-election.

“Chakwal reposes it’s trust in PMLN … Mubarak to all our workers & well-wishers… thanks to the people of Chakwal … Allah be praised!”, Shahbaz Sharif said in a twitter message.

Meanwhile, other PML-N lawmakers have also termed the victory of party’s Candidate Haider Sultan in Chakwal by-election as victory of democracy. They said that people of Chakwal have once again declared PML-N as victorious, showing their overwhelming confidence in the people-friendly policies of the present government and leadership of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

“The success of PMLN candidate, Haider Sultan in the PP-20 Chakwal by-election has clearly reflected the overwhelming confidence of people in the policies of PML-N government and leadership of former Prime Minister,” the member of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assembly Sardar Saleh Muhammad Khan said.

The lawmaker said that the people of Chakwal has once again declared PML-N as victorious and rejected politics of agitation, sit ins and sitting on containers.

“Nawaz Sharif lives in hearts of people and cannot be separated from the country’s politics due to his matchless services for the Country.”

“This result has clearly showed that vote bank of PML-N has increased manifold and is moving ahead to achieve landslide victory again in 2018 general elections,” he said.

The PML-N lawmaker Rushad Khan in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa said that the success of PML-N in Chakwal was possible as the party had set a new example of public service in four and half years and fulfilled all the promises made with people whether it was elimination of load-shedding, crushing of terrorism, brought economic stability, established network of motorways and highways besides improvement of railways system and restoring of peace in KPK, FATA and Karachi.

Rushad Khan said that the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa wanted solution of their problems and wanted answers from PTI Chief Imran Khan who had wasted four and half years in agitation politics. He said that the PTI has failed to address peoples’ problems and masses continued to suffer in hospitals besides increase of unemployment in the province.
