PoliticsNo space for delay in general elections: Nawaz Sharif

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday said there was no space for the delay in 2018 general elections.

Talking to media representatives along with Maryam Nawaz outside the Accountability Court in Islamabad where hearing of NAB references against Sharif family was held, the former prime minister said the recent developments in Balochistan were suspicious. He said a suspicious person was made the Chairman Senate.

Nawaz Sharif said Imran Khan should have told them that hadn’t he stamped Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) symbol of arrow for the Deputy Chairman? He said he didn’t know about the internal matter but whatever Asif Ali Zardari had been doing was shameful.

In reply to a question, Nawaz Sharif said he hadn’t yet talked to the prime minister about his meeting with the Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar

“I will inform you when I will talk to him,” he said.

The former prime minister again regretted that he wasn’t permitted to meet his ailing wife in London.

Talking to media, Maryam Nawaz said who would work when the whole government was facing cases. She said they were made to sit in the Courts from dawn to dusk.

Maryam Nawaz said her mother was still not well, and she had been under treatment of radio therapy. She said that in United Kingdom, doctors were not available on weekends.
