PoliticsNo room for slumber since Pakistan and PTI cannot co-exist

Islamabad, Pakistan: The Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said on Monday that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan cannot co-exist.

This delayed but strong reaction came after the Supreme Court’s rewriting of the 1973 Constitution for providing reserved seats to PTI and after an obnoxious campaign launched by the PTI against the Chief of Pakistan Army and the Parliament. The Federal government believes the worst tweets from a PTI official against the Army Chief are proof that Imran Khan Niazi is in hyper-aggressive mode again because he is not getting relief from the government even after getting exceptional favor from the higher judiciary. “Neither Imran Khan Niazi nor his wife nor the party got any relief rather faced more cases in the last three days, resulting in panic in the circles of PTI. They are entangled in more complicated cases that are hard to get rid of. In this frustration and anger, Imran Khan has re-launched Gibran Ilyas, who is running the PTI official sitting in America, against the Army Chief”, commented one government official who deals with the media management team of the Federal Government.

He is of the view that several leaders of the party (PTI) in Pakistan have already dissociated themselves from the poisonous tweets of the PTI official, but since the purpose of these tweets is to appease Niazi, Gibran Ilyas has started targeting the Army Chief. One thing is confirmed, these stupid and vile tweets against the Army Chief are only a reflection of Imran Niazi’s mental state, because even after doing everything, nothing has been done, on the contrary, the problems have increased.

Meanwhile, the Federal Government indicated a ban on PTI stating that PTI’s involvement in the May 9 events and the attempts to sabotage Pakistan’s deal with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) are enough to conclude that Pakistan and PTI could not go together. After a pause of over two and half years, PMLN has also decided to send a reference against Imran Khan, Arif Alvi, and Qasim Suri for trying to abrogate the Constitution when they collectively disbanded the National Assembly through a controversial move. The Federal Minister for Information was of the view that reference, under Article 6 of the Constitution, will be sent to the Supreme Court after the cabinet’s approval.

Meanwhile, journalistic circles in the federal capital believe that the federal government is still reluctant to take absolute action against PTI as well as against Imran Khan due to several reasons including the pressure of the United States to release him from jail and some components within the ruling alliance fear that Imran Khan is still getting support from some of the retired officials who had been working at sensitive positions and they might have some data/information that is enough to get decisions of choice from the higher judiciary in favor of Imran Khan. It is pertinent to mention that no action has so far been taken against officials who had been conducting secret operations for collecting private information about the judiciary, politicians, and civil and military bureaucrats when Imran Khan was prime minister for twisting the arms of his opponents and today’s ruling alliance was at target for collecting information of their private lives. There is the possibility that any stiff action against Imran Khan by the ruling alliance may result in the publicity of private information of ruling politicians and that would create an unbearable situation for a government that is already under criticism for skyrocketing poverty and price hikes.

Even after the May 9 vandalism, no strict action was taken against Imran Khan although all the evidence led to him. The government had information that articles against the military were published in Western media on the instructions of Imran and passing a resolution in the US Congress against Pakistan was managed by PTI while decisions to write letters to the IMF, audio leak of Shaukat Tarin in which he deliberately wanted to end the IMF deal and writing letters to United Nations to take punitive action against Pakistan were enough material to clamp Khan under conspiracy against the State cases but nothing was done till today. Now the legal aspect is that despite all these measures, Khan has been getting relief from the court one after the other, the government has been forced to once again prepare new cases knowing Khan would get relief again.
