PoliticsNo NRO for plunderers till he is alive, says PM Imran Khan

NANKANA SAHIB, Pakistan: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday once again ruled out granting any National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) to plunders, saying that it would never happen till he is alive.

While addressing a public gathering after performing the groundbreaking of Baba Guru Nanak University costing Rs 6 billion in Nankana Sahib, the prime minister said that the ongoing Azadi March led by Maulana Fazlur Rehman is aimed at to seek an NRO; however, he would never succumb to any pressure.

Imran Khan said that he had already predicted when he addressed the nation after he assumed the reign of the Country that all corrupt elements would soon be united and raise hue and cry in the pretext of economic slowdown.

The prime minister said that Azadi March has been tempted by a fear that the incumbent government would end up as successful as it has already received acknowledgements from international financial institutions i.e. IMF & World Bank etc for taking initiatives to streamline the national economy.

Talking about the bail granted to the ailing Nawaz Sharif on medical grounds by the Islamabad High Court (IHC), Imran Khan said that the IHC asked the federal as well as the provincial governments to give a guarantee that the former prime minister would survive by Tuesday.

“I can’t guarantee about myself, how can i be so sure about someone else?,” the prime minister remarked.

Imran Khan said that they ensured best medical facilities to Nawaz Sharif, and even brought best doctors from Karachi to Lahore.

Emphasizing upon the importance of education, the prime minister said that no nation could succeed without imparting knowledge to their youth. He said that unfortunately, none of his predecessors paid due attention to education and didn’t bat an eye at it.

The prime minister announced that educational institutions and hospitals would be built near to all main shrines across the Country. He reiterated that the introduction of uniform education system in the Country is the government’s foremost priority.
