PoliticsNo intention to leave PML-N: Chaudhry Nisar

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The former Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Saturday said neither he had left Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) nor he had any intention to leave the ruling party.

While addressing a Press Conference in Islamabad, Chaudhry Nisar said he did not leave his party even in hard times, and even now he had no grievances with the party.

“I’m not the one who makes group. I’m not part of any independent group,” he said. “Don’t fall prey to rumors of fake people,” he remarked.

However, Chaudhry Nisar grumbled that Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz leveled allegations against him. He said he served PML-N as an ideological party, adding 70 percent of PML-N leaders left and then rejoined the party.

Chaudhry Nisar said according to Nawaz Sharif, he hadn’t been ideological before but he was ideological now. “I feel regret that Nawaz Sharif was not ideological,” he said.

The former interior minister further said he was not satisfied with the role of Shahid Khaqan Abbasi as the prime minister. He said the prime minister should have called the meeting of the National Security Council and sought the military leadership’s reply over the widespread allegations regarding the army’s role in current political scenario.

Nisar said politics didn’t mean engaging in a fight but it’s a tool to find ways out. He said Dawn leaks was being repeated, adding if Dawn leaks report was made public everything would be clear.

The former federal minister also expressed displeasure over the statement of Nawaz Sharif regarding “aliens”.

Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said he asked Nawaz Sharif not to approach the Supreme Court on Panama issue. He said he tried to bar Nawaz Sharif from tirades against state institutions but his suggestions were not complied.
