ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday said the progress that had been made in Punjab during last 10 years under Shahbaz Sharif leadership, was never witnessed in Pakistan’s 70 years history.

In his address at Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Central General Council held at Jinnah Convention Centre in Islamabad to elect Shahbaz Sharif as party president, Nawaz Sharif said they all were there to elect Shahbaz Sharif as PML-N new president and prior to that in 2013 the people elected him as the prime minister of Pakistan.

Nawaz Sharif said during last four years, not only he thought about the Country but also resolved issues. He said the PML-N government had successfully ended load-shedding and eliminated terrorism from the Country since 2013.

“We resolved energy crisis in short span of four years,” he said.

The former prime minister said everybody knew about the condition of Pakistan in 2013 but they initiated various projects across the Country and steered the Country towards prosperity and development.

Nawaz said dozens of energy and infrastructure had been completed and a number of others were underway to put the Country on path of development and progress.

While addressing the gathering, the newly-elected PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif said today, the party had elected him as the president but Nawaz Sharif was still their Quaid.

“My election as the President of PML-N is a tough phase,” he said adding Nawaz Sharif always guided him in his political career.

Shahbaz Sharif said Nawaz Sharif was a politician who had been declared as true heir of Quaid-e-Azam.
