PoliticsNawaz asks for accountability against Sharif family since 1937

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday said they had been blessed by the Almighty Allah since 1937, so accountability should be started against them from 1937.

While holding informal talks with media representatives at the Accountability Court in Islamabad, Nawaz Sharif said NAB references filed against Sharif family didn’t reach any conclusion. He raised a question that when they couldn’t find anything in the old references, then what was the reason to file new references?

Nawaz Sharif said corruption was proved in cases like Rental Power and National Insurance Company Limited (NICL) while there was nothing in their cases but they had been trying hard to find something.

Talking to media, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Maryam Nawaz said nothing had been proved in the last six months what they found now? “This has been a weak case,” she said.

Maryam Nawaz said they themselves had provided the documents presented before the Court.

The PML-N leader said opponents had levelled allegations against them; therefore, now burden lied on them to prove such allegations. She said Imran Khan admitted that he had offshore companies but he was declared to be righteous.

Earlier in the morning, Nawaz Sharif along with his daughter Maryam Nawaz and Captain (retd) Muhammad Safdar reached the Accountability Court for hearing of NAB references.

The State Minister for Information Marriyum Aurangzeb, the Special Assistant to Prime Minister Senator Dr Musadik Malik, and Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi’s sister Sadia Abbasi also reached the Court.
