ISLAMABAD: Jamiat Ulama-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Saturday alleged that by announcing the blockage of NATO supply routes to Afghanistan, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-led Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government tried to deviate public’s attention from the current governance crisis in the province.

The JUI-F chief in a statement also blamed PTI Chairman Imran Khan for unilaterally announcing the blockage of NATO supply, saying it has put the national unity on risk. He said that a sit-in of some parties cannot be an alternative of national unity.

Earlier, addressing the participants of a sit-in protest staged by PTI and its allies on Ring Road in Peshawar against US drone attacks and to block NATO supply routes, the PTI chief Imran Khan that they will block NATO supply and it will remain closed till the US gives assures of not carrying out drone strikes on Pakistani territory.
