LAHORE, Pakistan: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Wednesday arrested the Punjab Senior Minister Aleem Khan in Offshore Company Scandal.

Sources said that the provincial minister had earlier been summoned by NAB for an investigation into his Off Shore Company and possessing assets beyond means but when he reached the Bureau Office in Lahore today, he was taken into custody. Meanwhile Aleem Khan affiliated with ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has decided to tender his resignation from the Punjab Cabinet and announced to face the case in the Court.

His family sources said that Aleem Khan has also sent his resignation to the Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar.

On other hand, Prime Minister Imran Khan has been informed about his arrest by NAB. He directed the ministers to avoid giving unnecessary statements.

The prime minister lauded Aleem Khan’s step of the immediate resignation. He also said that everything should be proceeded as per the law in terms of Aleem Khan’s Case.

It is worth mentioning here that Aleem Khan is facing a probe for his foreign properties and having assets beyond means.

The Punjab senior minister appeared before NAB for the fourth time today. Earlier he went to the NAB Office on August 8 last year for the last time, afterwards he was handed over a questioner and asked to re-appear on February 6.
