RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Rawalpindi on Monday arrested the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senior Leader Ahsan Iqbal in connection with the misuse of funds for the construction of Narowal Sports City Complex.

After his arrest, NAB also called a doctors’ team for medical examination of Ahsan Iqbal, who will now be produced before an Accountability Court on Tuesday for physical remand.

Earlier Ahsan Iqbal, who served as the Minister for Interior and the Minister for Planning, Development & Reforms in the Shahid Khan Abbasi Cabinet from 2017 to May 2018, appeared in the NAB Office in Rawalpindi.

Talking to media, the PML-N leader alleged that their voice is being suppressed for questioning the incumbent government’s incompetency. He said that he had nothing to do with the construction work of the project.

The PML-N leader said that a baseless case has been prepared to malign him. He demanded that his case be run before the public.
