Memogate case: CJ directs to bring Haqqani to court even by force

ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry said on Monday that Husain Haqqani, former Pakistan Ambassador to the United States, must be brought to the court even if force has to be applied, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported.

A larger bench of the apex court headed by the Chief Justice heard the memogate case today.

During the course of hearing, Asma Jehangir, the counsel of Haqqani, presented a letter written to the interior ministry pertaining to Haqqani’s security.

Asma informed the court that former envoy to the US can’t appear before the court due to security concerns. She said that her client has been receiving threats via social media and asked the concerned authorities to investigate the matter.
