LAHROE, Pakistan: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Maryam Nawaz on Monday brushed aside rumours about rift in Sharif family, especially about her alleged strained relationship with Hamza Shahbaz.

In a statement in Lahore, Maryam Nawaz categorically said she had no conflict with Hamza Shahbaz, the son of Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, adding God forbid we had any conflict.

Maryam said there was nothing true in the news of conflict between her and Hamza Shabaz.

The PML-N leader said she had been listening such rumors since 30 years. She said those expecting conflicts among Sharif family member would always be disappointed.

“We are all united under Nawaz Sharif’s leadership,” Maryam Nawaz said.

Meanwhile talking to media in Lahore, Maryam Nawaz said there should have been mutual respect among national institutions.

Maryam Nawaz said Pakistan army was fighting a war for their safety.

The PML-N leader reiterated they were all united under the leadership of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. She said Nawaz Sharif was still the center of Pakistani politics.

Earlier Maryam Nawaz visited Lahore’s NA-120 Constituency and held meeting with the Chairman, Vice Chairman and party officials of UC-68.

During the meeting, Maryam Nawaz exchanged views regarding the developmental works of the area.

Maryam Nawaz directed to resolve the issues of the workers on priority basis.

On the sidelines of Bahrain International Airshow, Commander of Ninth Air Force (US Air Forces Central Command — AFCENT), Lieutenant General Derek France called on Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force. The Air Chief reiterated his resolve to further enhance the existing bilateral cooperation between the two strategic partners. Commander AFCENT appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in promoting regional peace and vowed to enhance cooperation in the fields of joint training, mutual exercises and military to military collaboration. In a separate meeting, Chief of the Air Staff also called on Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force.
