ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senior leader and Head of party’s Central Media Department Iftikhar Durrani on Thursday lashed out at Pervaiz Rasheed, saying that he is surprised to see the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) representative, interpreting law before the public, who himself transgressed law and the Constitution in his blind devotion to the Sharif family.

In response over the former Federal Minister for Information Pervaiz Rashid’s media talk in Islamabad, Iftikhar Durrani said that the Constitution deems maligning armed forces and judiciary as a crime, and Pervaiz Rasheed in the notorious “Dawn Leaks” has been caught red-handed for propagating an inimical agenda against the armed forces.

“Pervaiz Rasheed like Nawaz Sharif thinks that he can fool the nation but he must know the fact that maligning institutions never going to help them out”, Iftikhar Durrani maintained.

Iftikhar Durrani went on to add that on July 25 it will become evident to Pervaiz Rasheed that who got selected and what a fair election is.

Earlier in the day while talking to media, Pervaiz Rasheed said that they have filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) challenging the 10-year imprisonment awarded to the former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

Pervaiz Rasheed said that Imran Khan has been facilitated in elections campaign, adding that this has raised questions on the transparency of upcoming general elections.

The former information minister also voiced concerns over the Accountability Court’s verdict against Nawaz Sharif just before the elections.

Moscow says it won’t allow US to silence UNSC on Israeli violence against Palestinians Monitoring Desk: Russian envoy in United Nations Vasily Nebenzya said that the UN Security Council should bring peace, stability and prosperity to the Middle East and Russia would not allow United States to silence UNSC over the issue of Gaza crisis. According to TASS news Agency, Nebenzya said that Moscow will continue to call for an end to violence against Palestinians and will not allow the US to muzzle the UN Security Council as Washington seeks to support Israel's operation in Gaza. "We will continue to stand firmly for ending violence against the Palestinians. Without a shadow of a doubt, we will continue to expose the abuses and sanctimony with which the US is handling the situation.
