QUETTA: The Balochistan Election Commission has issued the list of candidates for the local bodies elections in the province, scheduled to be held on December 7.

The candidates for the local bodies polls have also been allotted electoral symbols.

There are approximately 20,000 candidates for 7,100 seats in the provincial local bodies elections, the provincial election commissioner Syed Sultan said.

The commissioner said that in some local bodies constituencies of the province including Awaran and Swabi, candidates have been elected unopposed.

Sultan said that in Dera Bugti ten candidates have been elected unopposed to the district council, while elections will be held for four seats on the council. He said that in Awaran six candidates have been elected unopposed to the district council.

The provincial election commissioner said that the printing of ballot papers will begin on Wednesday. Ballot papers for Quetta and Zhob will be printed in Islamabad, while papers for Sibi, Naseerabad, Makran and Kalat division will be printed in Karachi.
