PoliticsJI announces to support PTI’s candidate in presidential election

LAHORE: Jamat e Islami (JI) Ameer Syed Munawar Hassan has said that his party will support Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) nominee Justice (retd) Wajihuddin Ahmed in the presidential election.

It may be noted that JI is a coalition partner of PTI in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provincial government.

The presidential election is set to take place on July 30 instead of the original scheduled date of August 6 following an order of the Supreme Court.

The apex court had issued the order following a petition filed by the federal government seeking a change in the schedule.
