ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Iranian ambassador to Pakisan Mehdi Honardoost on Monday extended warm and cordial felicitations to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan on his victory in the recently held parliament elections.

In a letter written to the Chairman PTI Imran Khan, the Iranian ambassador said that “Muslim people of Pakistan through their high ambitious turn-out in the elections not only bolstered the democratic pillars but also displayed their willingness to apply their right to self-determination and accomplish progress and development in their country.”

Mehdi Honardoost also announced Iran’s readiness for promoting and enhancing all-field cooperation with the new government of Pakistan.

“I pray to Almighty Allah for good health and further success of Your Excellency and Tehreek-e-Insaf as well as welfare and progress of the people of Pakistan,” the envoy further wrote.Iranian envoy extends felicitations to Imran Khan

Earlier in the day, the President of Maldives Abdullah Yameen also congratulated Imran Khan over his victory in the general elections.

Abdullah Yameen phoned Imran Khan and expressed his best wishes for the next government.

The Chairman PTI thanked the Maldivian president for his good wishes for Pakistan.
