ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Terming the Supreme Court’s verdict for disqualification of Nawaz Sharif as a historic, the Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah on Saturday said independent decisions helped making Country’s institutions stronger.

“Independent and right decisions of the institutions make the state and system stronger,” Khursheed Shah while addressing a press conference in Islamabad.

The Opposition leader urged all the political forces to accept the decision of the Supreme Court and work for the progress and prosperity of the Country.

Khursheed Shah said from the day one, he was asking Nawaz Sharif that parliament was the source of his strength.

“I had been asking Muhammad Nawaz Sharif from the day one that Parliament is the source of strength for him so he should deal it with respect and dignity” he said.

The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) senior stalwart regretted that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) opted to stay away from the Parliament and masses which weakened them. He said PPP had always supported the democracy and was committed to do so in the future.

“Pakistan People’s Party had always rendered unmatched sacrifices for the democracy as Benazir Bhutto had sacrificed her life for the democracy, that is why she was still alive in the history,” the Opposition leader said.
