ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Thursday demanded the resignation of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif till the proposed Joint Investigation Team (JIT) completed its probe into the Panama Case.
His demand came a few hours after the Supreme Court of Pakistan in its split judgment of Panama Papers Case upheld Nawaz Sharif as the prime minister, and ordered the formation of a JIT to probe how the family’s money was transferred to Qatar.
Talking to media in Islamabad, Imran Khan said that he accepted the verdict of the Supreme Court and praised its five-member bench. He said that all five judges had rejected the evidences and explanation of Nawaz Sharif.
“I demand resignation of PM till completion of JIT investigation,” he said adding that it was not possible that a free and transparent investigation was carried out when the accused Nawaz Sharif was holding the premiership.
The PTI Chief further said that the Supreme Court confirmed that National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had failed.
“Now, Nawaz Sharif has no moral right to remain PM,” he added.
Imran also questioned that why Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) workers were distributing sweets since Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif didn’t walk free in the Case.
A great SC judgement which has completely rejected Nawaz Sharif’s entire story.PM shd resign immediately as he has lost all moral authority.

Zardari rejects SC’s verdict, asks Nawaz to resign
Meanwhile, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari in a press conference rejected the decision of the Supreme Court in Panama Case, saying today democracy and justice had been damaged.
Zardari also asked Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to tender his resignation on moral grounds after the Panama Case verdict.
The PPP senior leader Senator Aitzaz Ahsan also condemned the decision of the Supreme Court and said that it’s verdict was flawed.
