ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan on Friday sought an unconditional apology from the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in Ballot Secrecy Case.

Later, a four-member Commission headed by the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Justice (retd) Sardar Muhammad Raza accepted Imran Khan’s apology for violating secrecy of the ballot on July 25, and withdrew its notice against him.

The Commission also ordered to issue a notification of the success of Imran Khan from NA-53 Islamabad-II.

Imran Khan’s lawyer Babar Awan had submitted an affidavit of apology before the ECP signed by his Client.

In his statement over the violation of secrecy of vote in NA-53, Imran Khan said that there was a huge crowd in the polling station on election day, and following all the rules he went alone into the polling station to cast his vote.

Imran Khan said that due to the crowd the Screen fell off, and he asked the polling agent where to cast the vote? He said that the polling staff directed him to cast the vote by putting it on the table.

While he was stamping the ballot paper, media was present around him and they took the picture and made footage without his permission, Imran Khan said, adding that he didn’t deliberately violate the secrecy of vote.
