PoliticsImran Khan never requested for meeting with Army Chief: Fawad Chaudhry

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Chaudhry Fawad Hussain has brushed aside the rumors of the Chairman PTI Imran Khan making a request to have a meeting with the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir.

Earlier in the day, the senior journalist and anchorperson Kamran Khan revealed on Twitter that the COAS held a three-and-half hour meeting last night with the Country’s leading business men and industrialists in the presence of the Finance Minister Ishaq Dar.

Kamran Khan also claimed that the Army Chief sent a message to Imran Khan through President Dr. Arif Alvi for his meeting with Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif; however, the Chairman PTI denied and rather expressed the desire to have a meeting with General Asim Munir.

The journalist said that General Asim Munir replied saying that he wasn’t ready to mediate in the political matters.

In response, Chaudhry Fawad Hussain took to Twitter and dismissed Kamran Khan’s assertions saying that “Chairman PTI Imran Khan never made any request to meet Army Chief or any of his representatives likewise President has never approached Chairman PTI with any suggestion of Army Chief for meeting Shahbaz Sharif, speculations in this regard are baseless.”
