RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: A Rawalpindi Court on Saturday sentenced the former Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi to seven years in imprisonment each in a Case related to their marriage during the latter’s Iddat period.

The Senior Civil Judge Qudratullah announced the verdict on the complaint of Bushra’s former husband Khawar Fareed Maneka in a makeshift court at the Adiala district jail.

In his verdict, the judge ruled that the couple’s nikkah is invalid and illegal.

Talking to media after the verdict was announced, Bushra Bibi said that the Holy Quran has ruled on the issue of Iddat, terming the verdict as a “decision of Iblis”. She said that it’s a battle of honor and dishonor.

The verdict comes in the same week the former Prime Minister Imran Khan was sentenced to 10 years in the Cipher Case and 14 years in the Toshakhana Case.
