Zaeem Qadri quits PMLN
LAHORE, Pakistan: The former Spokesman Punjab Government and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Zaeem Qadri on Thursday lambasted his own party for humiliating the old party workers, and said that he can’t polish boots of Hamza Shahbaz.
“I can’t polish shoes of Hamza Shahbaz. I am an ideological party worker. I will contest election from NA-133 (NA-133 Lahore-XI) as an independent candidate,” Zaeem Qadri said while addressing a Press Conference in Lahore.
Zaeem Qadri said that he would show Hamza Shahbaz – the son of former Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif – that how politics in done in Lahore, and added that he would contest the elections against Hamza Shahbaz.
“Listen Hamza Shahbaz, Lahore is not your or your father’s fiefdom (حمزہ شہباز سن لو!لاہور تمہاری اور تمہارے باپ کی جاگیر نہیں ہے),” Zaeem Qadri said.
However, he said that he is Syed, and can sacrifice his life but he can’t comprise on his honour and dignity.
Zaeem Qadir said that he is being replaced in PML-N by new comers. He said that he has been the Spokesman of Nawaz Sharif since eight years, adding that his father and grandfather were also affiliated with PML-N.
“I joined Muslim league in 1999. PML-N was in my blood and will remain in it. My father rendered lot of sacrifices for democracy,” Zaeem Qadri said.
Meanwhile, Zaeem Qadri’s wife Uzma Qadri – who had been awarded the PML-N’s ticket for Woman Reserved Seat in National Assembly from Punjab – also withdrew her candidature.
Earlier the PML-N leader and former Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique along with Rana Mashood met Zaeem Qadri to pacify and convince him to reverse his likely decision of contesting the 2018 general elections independently. However, his efforts yielded no fruits.
