ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Wednesday took notice of release of development funds and out-of-turn hiring in center and provinces and sought replies within one week, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported.

Overlooking the ban imposed by ECP, both federal and provincial governments carried out interviews for new recruitments despite an ECP’s ban, commission’s spokesman said.

The spokesman said that Railway authorities conducted interviews for 33 vacant seats, while the Sindh Aukaf Department hired 73 people.

In addition, ECP spokesman said that funds of Rs1.20 billion were transferred by the Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf in PPP constituencies.

ECP, taking notice of these reports, asked for replies from Railway Secretary, Secretary Cabinet Division and Chief Secretary Sindh within seven days.
