ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Friday notified Dr. Abdul Qayyum Soomro of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) as Senator-elect from the seat vacated by PPP’s Faisal Raza Abidi.

Soomro was elected unopposed.

Faisal Raza Abidi tendered his resignation from Senate on April 17, a day after the party asked him to resign because he violated party discipline.
