PESHAWAR, Pakistan: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Revenue Ali Amin Khan Gandapur has condemned in the strongest terms the malicious campaign triggered against him after Dera Ismail Khan incident, saying that the vengeful allegations are being hurled against him for political goals and intentions.
“The attempts to link the heart wrenching/terrible incident in DI Khan with me is extremely condemnable”, Ali Amin Gandapur said in a statement.
On October 27, a group of men stripped a 16-year-old girl naked and forcefully made her walk for an hour in Ghara Matt Village of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Dera Ismail Khan District when she was returning home.
Later the accused were apprehended but Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) lawmaker in National assembly Dawar Khan Kundi alleged that people involved in an assault on the girl of the area were being protected and supported by Ali Amin Gandapur.
“Dawar Kundi is nothing more than another ‘Ayesha Gulalai’ in PTI and also he is following her footsteps,” Ali Amin Gandapur said.
Ali Amin Gandapur said that those accusing me for patronizing the culprits/criminals are ignorant of the non-partisan character of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police, adding that no minister or political leader including him can direct or impel police.
The provincial minister said that this is Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and backing criminals is out of question in the presence of such depoliticized and competent police department.
“I demand the police to bring the elements involved in the incident to the book”, Ali Amin Gandapur said.
Gandapur further said that if his involvement is proved in the matter, then he should be executed rather removing from the ministry. He challenged his accusers to come forth with the evidences against him if there is any truth in their malignant allegations.
