Liaqat Ali Chatha said that 13 losing candidates were made winners in Rawalpindi with fake stamps. He also alleged that the Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa and Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikandar Sultan Raja were also involved in this malpractice.

The Commissioner Rawalpindi said that what happened can’t even be described as irregularities as elections results were extensively fraudulent, maintaining that there is no need of conducting fresh elections as Form 45 has the actual results.

Chatha also said that he even once attempted to commit suicide after today’s Fajr prayers, then he thought he must apprise the masses about the massive rigging carried out in February 8 elections. He also advised the bureaucracy not to follow illegal instructions of politicians.

The Commissioner said that he forced the Returning Officers (ROs) to manipulate the elections results though they were begging for not being pressurized to do it. He said that even today bureaucracy is involved in putting on fake stamps.

In response to the allegations against him, the Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa said that anyone can make baseless allegations regarding anything but should also bring evidence with it.

ECP rejects allegations

Meanwhile, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has rejected the allegations leveled by the Commissioner Rawalpindi, saying that no Official of the ECP ever instructed the Commissioner to alter the elections results.

The ECP said that it would ensure an immediate inquiry into the allegations.
