LAHORE/ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Khawaja Saad Rafique on Tuesday said the Co-Chairman Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Asif Ali Zardari would be responsible if Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Candidate Arif Alvi won the Presidential Election.

Talking to media in Lahore, Saad Rafique said Asif Ali Zardari knew that he had been nominating a controversial person, adding PPP nominated its Presidential Candidate without any consultation. PPP

Saad Rafique said PPP was one of the biggest political parties in the Country. He said Asif Zardari would be presented a shield if PTI Candidate won today.

The PML-N leader said there was a time when Imran Khan used to say that PPP was PML-N’s friendly opposition.

“An opportunity to expose the electoral rigging was missed,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Presidential Election is underway today to elect the Country’s 13th President, in which PTI’s Dr Arif Alvi, PPP’s Aitzaz Ahsan and PML-N backed Maulana Fazlur Rehman are vying.

Separately talking to media in Islamabad, the Speaker Punjab Assembly Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi said they prayed for Dr Arif Alvi’s victory.

Pervaiz Elahi said PML-N had destroyed the Punjab province, and the condition of the government hospitals in Punjab was pathetic.

The Speaker said there was no forward block among the allied parties. He said they would fulfill the promises made to the allies.

The Speaker Punjab Assembly further said the opposition and media should let the government complete its 100 days and then criticize it. He added they would bring a new local bodies system in Punjab.
