ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The President Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Amir Muqam on Thursday denied his involvement behind Ayesha Gulalai’s allegations against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
“It is wrong to say that I offered Rs 500 million to Ayesha Gulalai,” Amir Muqam while addressing a Press Conference in Islamabad.
Following the appalling allegations leveled by Ayesha Gulalai against PTI Chief Imran Khan and other party’s leadership, PTI had accused Amir Muqam of orchestrating the whole drama, aiming at defaming Imran Khan and his disqualification under article 62 and 63 of the Constitution.
The PTI also alleged that Ayesha Gulalai met KPK Governor Zafar Iqbal Jhagra and Amir Muqam at the governor house in Peshawar prior to hurling accusations against Imran Khan. In addition, the party also alleged that Ayesha Gulalai was paid Rs 500 million for defaming Imran Khan.
Amir Muqam denied that he had ever met Ayesha Gulalai and said that only after her Press Conference on August 1, he talked to her on phone. He said that through media, he came to know that Ayesha Gulalai had left PTI.
Talking about Ayesha Gulalai’s corruption allegations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Amir Muqam said that PTI ministers themselves were blaming their own provincial government for corruption.
The PML-N leader also said that allegations of Ayesha Gulalai should be investigated.
