QUETTA, Pakistan: Balochistan Awami Party’s (BAP) Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo has been elected as the 15th Speaker of the 65-member Balochistan Assembly by receiving 39 votes against Nawaz Kakar of the Joint Opposition who took 20 votes.

Following his election in which 59 lawmakers cast their votes, the Outgoing Speaker Balochistan Assembly Rahila Hameed Khan Durrani administered the Oath to Abdul Quddus Bizenjo, who earlier remained as Balochistan’s 16th Chief Minister from January 13, 2018 to June 8, 2018

Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo has also been the Deputy Speaker of the provincial assembly from June 4, 2013 to May 22, 2015.
