SIALKOT, Pakistan: The local district administration has declared as many as 85 polling stations most sensitive and 300 other polling stations sensitive out of total 1544 polling stations established in the district for LG polls to be held on December 5.

The district administration has also called the Rangers and Pak Army troops to help in holding free, fair, impartial, transparent and peaceful polling in the district.

DCO Dr. Asif Tufail told newsmen that as many as 2,011,912 registered voters including 1165351 male voters and 846561 female voters will cast their votes during the LB polls being held for 124 rural union councils of the district.

DCO added that Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has established as many as 1544 polling stations including 331 polling stations for male voters, 331 polling stations for female voters and 882 combined polling stations in the district.

In Sialkot city, there are 77 candidates are in the race for the slots of chairmanship and vice chairman in all the 24 urban union councils of Municipal Corporation Sialkot as 471 candidates are contesting for the 144 seats of general councilors (including two female candidates and two minorities’ candidates) for these general seats in these urban UCs in Sialkot city.

In Zila Council Sialkot, as many as 575 candidates are in the race for the slots of chairman and vice chairman in all the 124 rural union councils of Zila Council Sialkot, while 2868 candidates (including four female candidates and four minorities’ candidates) are contesting for the seats of general councilors

In Sambrial city, total 101candidates are contesting the LB polls for the seats of general councilors in all the 20 urban wards of Municipal Committee Sambrial.

In Daska city, there are 124 candidates in the race for the seats of general councilors in all the 30 urban wards of Municipal Committee Daska.

In Pasrur city, total 114 candidates are fighting for the general councilors’ seats in all the 26 urban wards of Municipal Committee Pasrur.
