QUETTA, Pakistan: Four people including one police personnel, one pedestrian and two alleged bike snatchers were injured in a shootout between the police and the motorcycle snatchers on Double Road area of Quetta on Monday.

The police sources said that exchange of fire took place between police and three alleged motorcycle snatchers in Khaliqabad area on Double Road lying within jurisdiction of PS Industrial in the metropolis, leaving four people injured.

“The injured include one police personnel, one pedestrian and two bike snatchers,” they said, adding that one accomplice of the suspects managed to escape from the scene.

The injured were shifted to Civil Hospital for medical treatment. The injured police constable was identified as Shahzad Khan and the pedestrian was recognized as Almas Khan.

The police also seized two TT pistols from the possession of the accused.

The police have been investigating into the incident. Further probe was underway.
