CAIRO: Police fired tear gas at supporters of ousted President Mohamed Morsi after clashes erupted in central Cairo on Tuesday while the pro-Morsi protesters were marching to the Interior Ministry but were pelted with stones and bottles by local residents.

Thousands of pro-Morsi protesters, demanding the reinstatement of Morsi who was overthrown by the military on July 3, were taking part in the march when the clashes broke out.
