Monitoring Desk: “The visit of Prime Minister of Pakistan Shebaz Sharif to Baku will help in boosting Pakistan-Azerbaijan economic relations”, reports State News Agency of Azerbaijan AZERTAC.
The article titled “Azerbaijan-Pakistan multi-sectoral partnership designing the shared future” published by AZERTAC mentioned that there was a cliché that Azerbaijan supported Pakistan over the Kashmir issue because Pakistan had been proactive to support Azerbaijan over the former Nagorno-Karabakh issue. This cliché is busted because President Ilham Aliyev liberated Karabakh through 44-day Patriotic War, but Azerbaijan is still supporting Pakistan over Kashmir issue without an iota of change in its policy.

“Azerbaijan is one of the brotherly Islamic countries whether it is an earthquake or a flood in Pakistan, Azerbaijan has always stood by Pakistan with an open heart and this is a one of reasons, when difficult times had come for Azerbaijan in past after its military clashes with Armenia; Pakistan had not backed down from supporting Azerbaijan. The historic relations between both nations were not lost although Azerbaijan was behind iron wall of former Soviet Union for over 70 years but just after getting independence, both the nations were reunited and that credit goes to late former President Heydar Aliyev, his son President Ilham Aliyev, former Prime Minister of Pakistan Muhamad Nawaz Sharif, former Prime Minister of Pakistan Benazir Bhutto and sitting Prime Minister Muhammad Shebaz Sharif. The official document of the visit of late former President Heydar Aliyev to Pakistan on April 10, 1996 showed extraordinary praising of Pakistan by the Father of Azerbaijan– Heydar Aliyev who during his joint press conference with Benazir Bhutto said that he would never forget support and assistance Pakistan provided to Azerbaijan at international sphere and Benazir Bhutto had the identical observations about Azerbaijan.
Pakistan has never recognized Armenia as an independent state as a token of condemnation against Armenian aggression against Azerbaijanis,” mentioned the writer.
