ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Imran Khan has reasserted Pakistan’s demand, seeking attention of the International Community to the Indian brutalities in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

In his message on Kashmir Solidarity Day, Imran Khan said that ruthless killings, pellet injuries to children and infants, rapes and torture; Indian atrocities in Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir continue unabated and so does the spirit and courage of Kashmiris in their fight to achieve the legitimate right to self-determination.

Kashmir Solidarity Day is being observed today (February 5) to express whole hearted support of the Pakistani nation to just struggle of Kashmiri people for their inalienable right to self-determination under UN resolutions.

The prime minister said that the observance of the Kashmir Solidarity Day every year on 5th of February commemorates the strong and unflinching resolve of the Kashmiris to achieve the inalienable right to self-determination from Indian subjugation which does not weaken rather strengthens with every passing day and with each new act of Indian cruelty in the occupied valley.

Imran Khan said that seven decades have passed and the dispute of Jammu and Kashmir remains unresolved. He said that Kashmiris have been fervently demanding an end to India’s illegitimate rule, spanning more than 70 long and bloody years.

The premier said that since 1947, the number of tortures, rapes and killings perpetrated by the Indian occupation forces against innocent Kashmiris has become a case study in unprecedented violence. He said that thousands of innocent Kashmiris have been brutally tortured and extra-judicially killed during forced disappearances or illegal custody by the Indian occupation forces, which enjoy full immunity under draconian laws.

In addition, he said that the report of the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) on Jammu and Kashmir echoes Pakistan’s repeated calls to the International Community to take stock of India’s brutal use of pellet guns, indiscriminate firing, use of human shields and promulgation of the draconian Armed Force Special Powers Act (AFSPA) and Public Safety Act (PSA) that are making lives of the people in Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir a living hell.
