ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Imran Khan will launch a program on Thursday for the Empowerment of Fishermen.

The program will be executed in cooperation with the Ministry of Maritime Affairs under the Kamyab Jawan Program.

In a statement, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Usman Dar said that the program is aimed at taking forward the fisheries sector.

Usman Dar said that loans will be provided to the fishermen on easy installments.

The PTI leader regretted that the fisheries sector was neglected by the previous governments. He said that our program is an important step towards making the fishermen an important stakeholder of the blue economy.
