LAHORE, Pakistan: Prime Minister Imran Khan has accorded approval in principle to construct the Cricket Stadium in Islamabad.
In a meeting held in Lahore on Friday, the prime minister directed the Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Ramiz Raja to utilize all resources to complete the construction of the Cricket Stadium in Islamabad as soon as possible.

The Chairman PCB assured the prime minister that the construction of the Stadium would be completed by 2025.
In the meeting, they also took stock of the upcoming Sixth Season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) and the overall structure of cricket.
The Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar, the Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar, and the Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training Shafqat Mahmood were also present in the meeting.
Separately, Punjab’s Minister for Sports Muhammad Taimoor Khan and the Forest Minister Muhammad Sibtain Khan also met Prime Minister Imran Khan in Lahore and briefed him about the Provincial Sports and Forest Departments.
Lauding the performance of both the departments, the prime minister directed the concerned ministers to take all possible steps to ensure the development of youth through sports and protect the climate by preventing the deforestation and planting trees.
