PESHAWAR, Pakistan: The banned outfit Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) on Monday allegedly killed peace committee member Muhammad Khan in Bara Bandai area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Swat district, police said.

Talking to media, the Station House Officer (SHO) Kangu Rahim Khan said that peace committee member’s two police guards Bakhtbedar and Bilal as well as a passerby were also shot and injured during the attack.

   

The injured were transported to a nearby hospital but in the meantime, Bakhtbedar succumbed to his wounds.

Soon after the incident, police personnel reached the site and launched a search operation in the area to apprehend militants.

Meanwhile in an email sent to journalists, the TTP Spokesman Muhammad Khorasani claimed responsibility for shooting the peace committee member and his police guards in Swat.
