LAHORE, Pakistan: The Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Shaharyar M Khan has appointed Misbah-ul Haq as captain of the Pakistan test team for the tour of West Indies.

“Misbah has conveyed to the Chairman PCB his desire to continue as the Captain of the Pakistan Test Team which he approved “, a spokesman of PCB sad in Lahore on Monday.

The PCB Chairman has also approved appointment of Sarfraz Ahmed as Vice-Captain of the Pakistan Test team, the spokesman added.

Pakistan will play three Test matches against West Indies starting at Sabina Park in Kingston, Jamaica on April 26.

However prior to three-match Test series, Pakistan will play four T20 Internationals and three One Day Internationals (ODI) against West Indies.

The 42-year-old Misbah earlier hinted that he might announce retirement any time depending upon his performance in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2017 in which he led the Defending Champions Islamabad United.

Islamabad United’s journey in PSL ended with a 44-run loss at the hands of Karachi Kings in the second Qualifying Final in Sharjah on March 1.

But the most successful Test Captain of Pakistan Misbah-ul-Haq later decided to continue to lead Pakistan in Test Cricket.
