PCB makes Daraz.pk their official online retail partner

KARACHI: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has collaborated with ecommerce leader Daraz.pk to sell match tickets for the upcoming Zimbabwe tour – the first one in six years – at http://www.daraz.pk/pcb/.

The sales, thus far, have proven this partnership as a game changer for local cricket and the ecommerce industry.

Daraz.pk has a strong reach across the country with over 40,000 unique products available for sale on its website which it delivers to more than 200 cities of Pakistan and therefore PCB entered this partnership which had phenomenal results. Tickets for each t20 ran out within hours even though PCB managed to double the number of tickets they had allocated to Daraz.pk post the successful launch. So far, over 2000 tickets have been sold on the online shopping portal and this number is expected to be even higher for the ODI’s.  Through this association, PCB and Daraz.pk wish to leverage the combined brand synergies to reach out to the biggest audience across Pakistan and bring the nation together to cheer for the men in green.

“We realized that there is massive demand for these tickets outside Lahore and Daraz.pk seemed like the perfect platform to cater to that demand. We are very happy with how it has been handled,” said Naila Bhatti, Head of Marketing at PCB.

“We actually had to double the number of tickets we had set aside for Daraz.pk after the tremendous response we got. We look forward to future collaborations with the company,” she added.

Speaking on the occasion, Farees Shah, Cofounder, Daraz.pk said, “It is a big moment for the country – not only have our cricket fans been deprived of international cricket but most of our cricket stars, who are household names, are yet to play a match in front of our home crowd.”

“We at Daraz.pk are extremely pleased at being able to help our customers be a part of this celebration of cricket by purchasing tickets on our website. I would also like to appreciate the efforts of PCB in not only bringing cricket back to Pakistan and but also for the forward thinking exhibited by them in partnering with Daraz.pk, Pakistan’s leading online store,” added Shah.

With the help of Daraz.pk, ignite the fire of passion and allegiance within you, stand together as one and be there for what appears to be an iconic cricket series in Pakistan’s history.
