MUZAFFARABAD: A passenger bus plunged into a deep ravine in Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK) district on Monday morning, killing at least 10 persons and injuring 5 others, police and rescue official said.

The officials said the bus was on its way from Rawalpindi to forward Kahuta when it slid off a mountainous road and fell into a deep ravine near Sirian area of Azad Jammu & Kashmir.

They said that the incident took place due to slippery roads, adding that 10 persons were killed and five others sustained injures during the incident.

The rescue operation had started while dead and injured people were being shifted to the forward Kahuta army hospital.
